Live music is a key component to the work on stage. Denis O’Hare is joined onstage by a live bassist who punctuates the poet’s story through music.
When touring, the set design responds in a bespoke way to each stage environment. Music stands, chairs, curtains, road boxes and more should kindly be made available to be used onstage by the team.
The piece can also play in repertory with their play THE SONG OF ROME, which is a two-hander that picks up where AN ILIAD leaves off, examining the idea of government and empire, both the rise and the fall.
